Parents grow and adapt alongside their teenagers.
“What a coaching conversation can unlock…Susan’s story”
My son Leo had always been a great student—sweet, respectful, motivated, and genuinely excited about college. No partying, no complaints from teachers or friends. But as finals approached, I felt that familiar parent pull: Was there more he needed?
I found Genevieve and scheduled a session for Leo. He agreed—with a little eye-rolling.
During their Zoom session, Genevieve asked thoughtful questions—not just about classes, but about what mattered to Leo: which subjects felt useful, how he spent his time, and what he loved outside of school. She quickly tuned into both his strengths and his stress.
When she asked Leo why he thought I had signed him up for coaching, his answer was honest and revealing:
“My parents don’t understand how school works… and I turn in some of my work late.”
Together, they explored his digital calendar system and came up with practical shifts: using a paper planner for one class, involving family in exam prep, and tweaking his study flow so that late assignments became a thing of the past.
These weren’t big, dramatic changes—but they worked. Leo finished senior year more strategically and with less stress.
Now we’re continuing with Genevieve as Leo prepares for college—building on what’s already strong, planning for the new, and helping him define when and how to stay connected with his family.
It’s that blend of academic confidence and meaningful family connection that’s setting him up to thrive.
Parents grow and adapt alongside their teenagers.
No one told you that being the parent of a teen is like a rollercoaster ride.
You can start your day over at any time, and you can adapt at any time, too. Do you want your teen to learn to be right at all costs, or adept at building respect because they connect and learn to work with others?
Being a good parent has results and consequences.
You’ve helped your teen identify a problem and are working on the solution, when BAM, they storm out. Or burst into tears. Or, look at their phone.
Ggggrrrrrrr…now what?
They’re intelligent and talented, and yet their judgment seems to have holes in it. And that leaves you feeling like a slice of Swiss cheese yourself.
Embarassing!
Unfortunately, your love, help, and guidance aren’t improving how stressed both you and your teenager are feeling daily.
Start using your love, help, and guidance more strategically.
